  • Review all debts: how much is owed, finance charges
  • Choose either the smallest debt or the one with highest finance charges
  • Reduce excess expenses (examples: take lunch to work, make cost-effective dinners rather than eating out, drink water rather than pop or coffee, etc)
  • Consider a temporary additional job to bring in more income
  • Apply as much money as you can toward paying off debt
